2000: The Spark of Innovation
The story begins in 2000 when John Waldrop, then a high school student with a passion for technology, met Aaron Siller, his computer class teacher. John was no ordinary student—he already held multiple IT certifications and was one of the youngest Microsoft Certified Professionals and Cisco Certified Network Associates in the world. While still in high school, John launched his IT consulting business, managing networks for two local insurance agencies.
2003: The Coffee Connection
John’s entrepreneurial journey took a turn when he met a fellow tech enthusiast at a local coffee shop. The two quickly connected over their shared passion for technology, collaborating to build computers for clients and grow their business through grassroots marketing. Over time, they each pursued individual ventures to focus on their unique client bases.
2008: Black Sea Systems is Born
Reunited after a few years, John and his former partner combined their expertise to establish Black Sea Systems. Their mission was clear: to provide thoughtfully designed solutions, proactive monitoring, and dependable IT support, all while establishing a reputation for excellence.
2011: A New Partnership
Throughout this time, John and Aaron’s friendship remained strong. Aaron, now a System Administrator at the school where they first met, had begun providing IT support on the side. Recognizing their shared vision, John brought Aaron on board as a partner in 2011, marking a new era for Black Sea Systems.
2018: A Growing Legacy
After their former partner moved away, John and Aaron continued as the driving force behind Black Sea Systems. Together, they expanded the company’s offerings to include virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), Azure and AWS cloud services, and both physical and cyber security solutions.
2025: Rebranding to Airspeed IT
To reflect their evolution and commitment to empowering businesses in a rapidly changing digital landscape, Black Sea Systems rebranded as Airspeed IT in 2025. The new name captures their dedication to agility, speed, and forward momentum, reinforcing their position as a cutting-edge managed service provider.
